Isuzu UK has secured a landmark fleet contract that will see the vehicle manufacturer provide dozens of new models to one of the UK's largest green service solutions providers, Glendale.

A total of 25 utility-spec double-cab D-Max pick-ups are to be provided for Glendale, with the manufacturer offering an extended five-year warranty on its models for the firm, as well as a full livery service – each of the models has been wrapped in Glendale's distinctive branding of lime green and will be hard to miss when they take to the roads in the coming weeks.

Fleet operations manager for Isuzu Alan Able commented: "It's very gratifying that Glendale has chosen the D-Max for its vehicle of choice, as we know it has very high expectations when it comes to the quality, reliability and economy of its fleet."

The D-Max has received considerable recognition for its green credentials and its positive overall performance in recent months, having been named Fleet Van's Pick-Up Truck of the Year, Trade Van Driver Magazine's Best 4×4 Trade Pick-Up and VansA2Z.com's Pick-Up of the Year, all in 2014.

Overall, the model offers fuel economy of 38.7 mpg and is available in three body types. It features the manufacturer's 2.5-litre twin-turbo diesel engine and is able to tow a class-leading 3.5 tonnes (braked).

Mark McKinnon, company engineer at Glendale, added: "The whole process has felt like more of a partnership from day one and everything has been delivered in the most professional way. The vehicles have been prepared to our specification at a very high standard."

He concluded that the investment in new fleet vehicles by the firm is in line with the company's commitment to ensuring maximum efficiency and safety, while creating a minimal environmental impact in the process.
